Shino glaze was first developed and used in Japan in the late 1500's. It's always been my favorite glaze and the shino I used on this collection of mugs is a carbon trap shino. The trapping of carbon during the firing process creates the spotted and darker areas on the mug surface. I hope you are as enchanted with the shino glaze as I am!

Microwave and dishwasher safe although hand washing is suggested.
